Following on from the recent St David’s Day celebrations, residents at The Old Vicarage Care Home recently celebrated St Patrick's Day with an array of festive treats and activities. The day began with staff members adorning the common areas with decorations and residents were provided with some St Paddy’s-themed headwear to wear.
The festivities began with a delicious meal featuring Irish stew, a traditional dish made with beef, vegetables, boiled potatoes and herbs. For dessert, residents were treated to homemade Irish fudge, a sweet confection made with rich butter and creamy condensed milk. To wash it all down, they enjoyed a refreshing pint of Guinness, the famous Irish beer known across the globe for its smooth, velvety texture and rich, creamy head.
The event proved to be a huge success, with residents and staff alike expressing their joy at the opportunity to celebrate together and enjoy the flavours and traditions of Ireland. It was a fantastic day that residents will remember fondly and everybody at our elderly care home in Kettering is already looking forward to next year’s St Paddy’s Day celebrations!
