Halloween is almost upon us and we have been getting into the spirit here at The Old Vicarage Care Home with plenty of Halloween-themed activities. Kicking things off, last week saw residents enjoy a busy morning getting artistic by painting some spooky scarecrows. The orange and black paint was used very generously to great effect! After working up an appetite the painting was followed up by a well-deserved Afternoon Tea. It was a lovely spread featuring an absolutely delicious apple and almond cake – thankfully no dunking was necessary to enjoy this apple treat!
A few days later the residents had the opportunity to play some Halloween Bingo. The residents donned their witches hats and kept a keen eye on their bingo cards, ready to shout out “(haunted) house!” as soon as their numbers were called!
And the festivities continued later in the week with an exciting game of Halloween Skittles. Using a pumpkin in place of a ball, the residents had great fun getting competitive and attempting to knock down all of the ghostly skittles!
Halloween is always a popular cause for celebration at our elderly care home in Kettering and our residents have some more spooky surprises to look forward to over the weekend!
