Christmas Hamper Surprise at The Old Vicarage Care Home

Given the circumstances of the past year or so it would be an understatement to say that people in general are a bit fed up and leading up to Christmas the overall feeling was much less merry than usual. However a week before Christmas the residents at our gold standard nursing home in Northamptonshire, The Old Vicarage Care Home, received an incredible surprise that lifted everybody’s spirits.

A group of staff members at Sainsbury’s in Burton Latimer very generously contributed money from their own pockets towards two huge hampers, which they very kindly donated to the residents at The Old Vic. The hampers contained an array of goodies including games, activities, sweet treats and delicious drinks - everything needed to ensure the residents had a jolly, fun-filled time over the festive period.

The gesture was massively appreciated by all and we’re incredibly thankful to the lovely team at Sainsbury’s for their thoughtfulness. During what was a very difficult year for everyone it’s so heart-warming to see how supportive and considerate the local community has been and continues to be.
